How does Keeping in Touch work?
Weekly contact service
If you choose to be called once a week, a trained customer service officer will ring you on the day you want between 8 am and 10 am.
When you register we will ask you to nominate a next of kin and an emergency contact.
If you don’t answer the phone when we call, we’ll try again within 15 minutes.
If there’s no answer, we’ll call again in another 15 minutes.
If there’s still no answer, we will contact your next of kin or emergency contact and ask them to check on you.
If we cannot reach them, someone from your local office will visit your home urgently to make sure you are okay.
In extreme circumstances – where we are worried that you might be hurt or unwell – we will contact emergency services to come to your home.
Six-monthly reminder
We contact renters who have not registered for Keeping in Touch once every six months to see if they want the service.
When we call, we will also make sure next of kin details are up to date.
