National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

The NDIS is the new way of providing support for Australians with disability as well as their families and carers. In Victoria, the NDIS is being introduced by DFFH and is expected to be fully implemented by early 2019.

The NDIS offers a number of supports for participants who wish to remain in their homes and live independently.

Supports must be articulated in the participant's plan, which is developed by an NDIS planner.

For more information, see Housing and the NDIS on the NDIS website.

How do I join the NDIS?

People who wish to obtain assistance under the NDIS should firstly see Am I eligible page on the NDIS website.

To apply to join the NDIS, see How to apply n the NDIS website.
