The Student Scholarship Program helps young people living in public or community housing or at risk of becoming homeless to get the support they need to stay in school.

If you're a Victorian secondary school teacher, recognise your students efforts by nominating them for a Victorian Government scholarship.

The program helps young people complete years 11 and 12 at a Government State School or TAFE. The scholarship is valued at $1,100.

The scholarship can be used to pay for a range of items including:

  • School or TAFE fees
  • Books
  • Computer equipment
  • Public transport costs.

The money can also go towards the cost of disability aids and child care.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria includes:

  • Being under 21 years old on 30 January 2025
  • Studying years 11 or 12 at a Victorian Government school or the equivalent at TAFE in 2025
  • Having support from a staff member like a counsellor or a wellbeing coordinator.

Victorian Government secondary school teachers and TAFE staff have to nominate eligible students for the scholarship.
