Last updated: 4 December 2016

Gardening enthusiasts living in public and community housing – it's that time again!

A vibrant garden in full bloom

Entries for the 2016-17 Victoria in Bloom garden competition are now open.

Victoria in Bloom recognises and rewards the great work of public and community housing residents with green thumbs. The awards are a way of thanking these people for contributing to their communities with their vibrant, verdant gardens.

No garden is too big or too small! The competition is open to all types of gardens - from balconies to backyards to community gardens.

There is no age limit either. The Best Young Gardener category is open to anyone under 25 who enjoys gardening or is interested in a gardening career.

The award categories for 2016-17 are:

  • Best Balcony Garden
  • Best Small Enclosed or Container Garden
  • Best Household Garden
  • Best Edible Garden
  • Best Sustainable Garden
  • Best Common Area Garden
  • Best Community Garden
  • Best Young Gardener (up to 25 years of age)

See our Victoria in Bloom page to find out how to enter.

Make sure you get your entries in by 31 October 2016.
