Apply for mortgage relief
If you are eligible, you can apply for the Mortgage Relief Scheme.
Before applying for mortgage relief it is recommended that you visit the Credit Ombudsman website and the Financial Ombudsman website. They have information on what hardship assistance is available under the National Consumer Credit Code.

Because you are getting a loan we will need security. This means we will register a mortgage on your property’s title.
To do this we need the permission of whoever is listed on the title to your property such as your lender. You will have to pay for the costs of arranging the mortgage relief loan, like bank fees and valuation fees. These costs can be added to your loan.
Our mortgage will be taken off your property when you have fully repaid the mortgage relief loan.
When your assistance finishes, you need to start making your normal mortgage repayments again. You will also start repaying your mortgage relief loan.
You can make payments either in a lump sum or by monthly installments.
The mortgage relief loan must be paid back straight away in a lump sum if you:
- Sell your property
- Re-finance your mortgage
- Borrow more money.
