The Student Scholarship Program supports young people living in social housing or at risk of becoming homeless to stay in school.

The scholarship can be used for a range of items including school or TAFE fees, books, computer equipment and public transport costs. The money can also go towards the cost of disability aids and child care.

Victorian Government secondary school teachers and TAFE staff nominate eligible students for the $1,100 scholarship.

The eligibility criteria includes:

  • Being under 21 years old at 1 February 2019
  • Studying Years 11 or 12 at a Victorian Government school or the equivalent at TAFE in 2019
  • Having support from a staff member like a counselor or a wellbeing coordinator.

Find out more, including the full eligibility criteria and the online application form, on Kids Under Cover's DHHS Student Scholarship Program page.

Applications close on Friday 29 June 2018.
